Who is Manoj Jarange?
Manoj Jarange Patil is leading the ongoing agitation by the Maratha community in Jalna district. Manoj has been active in the Maratha agitation movement for the past several years. Manoj, who has a normal situation, has studied till 12. He started his social work by working in a hotel.
Native village Beed –
Manoj Jarange’s native village is Matori in Beed district. However, he has been living in Ankushnagar in Ambad taluka for the past few years. He is known as a full-time worker for the Maratha community. He is survived by his wife, four children, three brothers and his parents.
Land sold for Maratha community –
Manoj Jarange’s financial situation is precarious, but he has sacrificed himself for the Maratha community. He owned four acres of land. He is said to have sold two acres of land for the Maratha community’s agitation.
More than 30 protests –
Manoj Jarange has been active in the movement for Maratha reservation since 2011. In 2014, he took out a rally at the divisional commissionerate in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. They held more than 30 protests over an eight-year period from 2015 to 2023.
Expansion of Shivba Organisation –
Manoj Jarange founded the Shivba Sanghatana and led many agitations for the Maratha community. In 2021, he had staged a sit-in protest for 90 days at Sasht Pimpalgaon in Jalna district. He also went on a six-day hunger strike. He had provided assistance to the families of those who lost their lives for Maratha reservation through a protest in Gorigandhari.
Shivba organization named in kopardi case accused in assault –
Manoj Jarange had launched a massive agitation demanding the hanging of the accused in the Kopardi rape case. The accused in the case were beaten up and Jarange Patil’s supporters were among those who assaulted them.
